Radon detector
SISIE + scintillation cells
SISIE is a new version of LUK devices with a new sample changer,
a better design, a more sophisticated software and other improvements.
Glass type Lucas cells (volume 125 ml) produced by RADON v.o.s.
are used. The photomultiplier is placed inside the device. The sample
changer is not so heavy and it is located above the measuring unit.
It has three positions: one for inserting the Lucas cell (inserting
position, covered by a removable cap), a "waiting" position (Lucas
cell should be kept in the darkness for at least 2 minutes before
measurement) and a measuring position. During measurement, the Lucas
cell is located above the photomultiplier, not below the photomultiplier
as in case of LUK 4E. Taking out of the cell from the changer is
easier. Similarly as in case of LUK 4E, two basic measuring modes
are available: (a) a counter mode, results are given in pulses;
(b) a "Rdn" mode, results are given in kBq/m3. Measurements can
be directed using a PC. An electric power supply is required for
operation (no batteries available).
